"There's nothing to be ashamed of, Jessica. Remember, not only can you do this--you're the only one who can do this."

Space marine Jessica Ramos wears a special combat suit representing the outer limits of humanity's technological and ethical exploration. Deployed to the surface of Duat, a distant planet orbiting a black hole sun, Jessica undertakes a shadowy mission for her military handlers, descending into the belly of an abandoned, eldritch structure of stone. Her psyche patched back together by hand after years of struggling with mental illness, Jessica will find the corridors of the structure tugging at threads of stowed-away memories and questioning her ability to complete the mission.

An atmospheric sci-fi text adventure with branching choices and relationships. Music by AUTOTECTONIC.

I really enjoyed it. I just can’t wait for the full version!

Hi! I'm really happy to hear this! I haven't had time to work on The Dive for a while because my cyberpunk novel was picked up right after I put the demo out--if you'd like to check that out you can preorder it on Amazon or from any bookstore--but I'm hoping I'll be able to put some time aside to get back to this story at some point. Thanks! :)

Just finished the demo, and I really like it! I can definitely see the influence of Ammonite in there, with the attention to detail in the internal human experience of the unknown and alien. Especially like how the lifeform is used. The way the events are structured, it ends up explaining itself without any need for an exposition dump. It feels weird and gross and arcane, but in a way that kicks the imagination into imagining everything it could do. Really looking forward to see where this goes!

This demo was honestly amazing. I am still kind of in awe of playing it. Legit, when it ended, I had a moment of just yelling WHAT THE FUCK? because I seriously wanted it to keep going. I won't spoil anything but as a demo? This is honestly one of the best interactive writing games I've played, both writing wise and mechanics wise. The music cuts in and fades away at the exact right moments, the dialogue is fantastic, and every choice feels significant. Somehow, just through words, it creates an ambience that makes you feel so small and so creeped out whilst simultaneously keeping you invested enough to want to keep going. Brie has done a great job with this and I will be looking forward to the full release!
